Duchinni D311 helmet – adventurous spec at commuter cost

Exploring the Earth needn’t cost it, thanks to the new D311 Dual Adventure helmet from Duchinni. Packed with all the features you’d expect from an adventure sport helmet, it sells for just £99.99.

  • ECE 22.05 approved
  • ABS shell with UV protection
  • Removable, washable comfort-fit lining
  • Anti-scratch visor + internal, drop-down sun visor
  • Fully vented
  • Adjustable and lockable peak

d311_white_2LRFully approved to the current ECE22.05 safety standard, the D311 can be used on roads and trails, with its tough ABS outer shell keeping the wearer well-protected.

The combination of an adjustable and lockable peak plus a full-length visor helps protect against flying dirt and debris, and the visor has an anti-scratch coating to help make sure the wearer’s vision stays clear.

A drop-down internal sun visor also features, which is easily operated with a gloved hand, using a small lever on the outside.

Vents on the crown and chin bar work with advanced channelling in the EPS lining to allow airflow around the head and face, and the D311’s comfort lining is fully removable and washable to keep it fresh and bacteria-free.

A traditional D-ring fastener on the chin strap keeps the helmet firmly in place and allows full adjustment.

The Duchinni D311 Dual Adventure comes in sizes XS-XL in White, Black and Matt Black at £99.99.

DRAGGIN Minx Women’s Jeans – review

Sarah from BigBikeMad has been trying a pair of DRAGGIN Minx jeans for summer riding;

minx jeans bumWomen are typically more interested in appearance than men, and it’s often their complaint that biker gear for girls is shapeless and lacking in style. Interestingly though, the women we spoke to also had an interest in the technical side of the equation.

These are a much better fit for the female shape than standard motorcycle trousers. “No one’s going to look like a bag of spuds in them”, said Sarah.

Sarah thought that the knitted Kevlar material was soft and non-scratchy and that the jeans had an overall feel of quality. No problem to wear all in all day in almost all summer conditions.

The Minx jeans have drawn just the right balance between protection and warm-weather comfort. Material, stitching and fittings are of excellent quality. At around £150 a pair these are a good value.

Weise Psycho Trousers – Review

psycho_jeans01Weise’s Psycho Jeans, like the matching Jacket, are a leather / textile combo, aiming to utilise the benefits of both materials; the lightness of cordura for much of the body, but with the high abrasion resistance of leather for likely impact points (specifically knees and rear end).

Some folks like the idea of combining materials in this way, but others have doubts about the wisdom of wearing leather in the rain. We put these tough-guy jeans through an equally tough test; over 1000 miles over some of the bumpiest, dustiest, wettest roads in Europe – the Cork and Kerry Mountains of South West Ireland.

Build quality is excellent, well above what you’d expect at this price point, which does seem to be a Weise trick … During a 2 hour downpour the jeans remained 100% waterproof.
