Hop around in the Draggin Roo Hoody

Hoodie-Roo_edited-1Stylish, comfortable and with Draggin’s proven protection built in, the new Roo Hoody is designed for the days when a full-blown riding jacket feels a little too much.

Cut to look and wear like a high-street hoody on the outside, the Roo is lined with Roomoto™ – Draggin’s own abrasion-resistant fabric – in key areas on the inside, for peace of mind. Constructed using DuPont™ Kevlar®, Roomoto™ is proven to be highly abrasion resistant, yet is soft, breathable, flexible and non-allergenic, for day-long comfort. Draggin is the World’s first preferred licensee for motorcycle garments constructed with DuPont™ Kevlar® fibre, so the wearer is guaranteed to be getting genuine Kevlar® protection. In addition, the Roo Hoody also features Draggin’s Dffuse CE-approved armour at the elbow, shoulder and back, to help guard against impact. All can be removed, so the Hoody can be washed. The Roo Hoody includes a zip closure with an easy-to-use puller, an adjustable and removable hood, and thumb holes in the cuffs, for easy and neat fitting under gloves. There’s also a toggle-adjustable waistband to ensure a snug fit, convenient hand pockets and an inside pocket for valuables.

The Draggin Roo Hoody is available in sizes S–3XL. Draggin is exclusively distributed in the UK by The Key Collection. Find your local stockist here.

Draggin Jeans – Back in Black

ABP11098 - 344523_BLKGEN PUBNew from Draggin, BLKGEN jeans combine the reassurance of DuPont™ Kevlar® protection with the appearance of high street fashion.Draggin pioneered Kevlar-lined biker jeans in 1997 and their latest BLKGEN design is the result of that extensive experience. Made from stretch denim, with a straight leg and mid-rise waistband, they will fit most riders. They also look great, because there are no visible panels and no external seams.

Comfort is assured, thanks to a sports liner that draws away moisture in summer and keeps the wearer warm in winter. They are lined with Draggin’s very own abrasion-resistant fabric called Roomoto™, which offers unrivalled safety plus climate control. Heat and sweat are drawn away from the skin, keeping the rider cool, while an antibacterial treatment keeps them fresh.

Draggin is the World’s first preferred licensee for motorcycle garments built with DuPont™ Kevlar® fibre. This partnership created Roomoto™ – a soft, breathable, flexible and non-allergenic lining – for abrasion resistance and day-long comfort.

Draggin Jeans’ patented positioning system ensures that each and every of the contact points are well covered with Roomoto™ – specifically designed and positioned to keep skin safe at all legal speed limits – and secured with heavy duty stitching.

Draggin’s CE Approved armour is also available and can easily be fitted to the knees and hips for additional impact protection, if required. Draggin BLKGEN jeans come in sizes 28”-44” waist and are exclusively distributed in the UK by The Key Collection.

Draggin’ Razzo Jeans offer serious style and substance

Men_s_RazzoDraggin’ Jeans have added a new style to their Drayko range, the Razzo: a street-styled fashion jean designed to look good off the bike, while offering high levels of protection.

Made from hand distressed denim, with a ‘vintage wash’ effect, Razzo jeans have a mid-rise waist for comfort, and straight-cut legs that fit over riding boots and offer ease of movement. On the inside is Draggin’s unique protective lining, knitted from a combination of DuPont™ Kevlar® and Dyneema® (the World’s strongest fibre). The lining is secured with heavy duty triple stitching in key impact areas, to help keep the wearer protected during a slide orMen_s_Razzo_rear fall.

Draggin is the first manufacturer of motorcycle jeans to be officially licensed to use DuPont™ Kevlar® aramid fibres. Originally developed in 1965, Kevlar® aramid fibre is light and extraordinarily strong, with five times the strength of steel on an equal-weight basis. It offers more than 2.5 seconds greater abrasion resistance than comparable motorcycle jeans, whilst being soft, breathable and non-allergenic. CE approved armour can be fitted to the knees and hips for added impact protection. Wide belt hoops accept big bike belts and Draggin avoid using rivets on the back pockets for safety.

Exclusively distributed in the UK by The Key Collection, Drayko Razzo jeans are available in waist sizes 30 to 38 inches, at an RRP of £174.99 including VAT. Call 0117 971 9200 or visit www.weiseclothing.com/weise-site.

DRAGGIN Minx Women’s Jeans – review

Sarah from BigBikeMad has been trying a pair of DRAGGIN Minx jeans for summer riding;

minx jeans bumWomen are typically more interested in appearance than men, and it’s often their complaint that biker gear for girls is shapeless and lacking in style. Interestingly though, the women we spoke to also had an interest in the technical side of the equation.

These are a much better fit for the female shape than standard motorcycle trousers. “No one’s going to look like a bag of spuds in them”, said Sarah.

Sarah thought that the knitted Kevlar material was soft and non-scratchy and that the jeans had an overall feel of quality. No problem to wear all in all day in almost all summer conditions.

The Minx jeans have drawn just the right balance between protection and warm-weather comfort. Material, stitching and fittings are of excellent quality. At around £150 a pair these are a good value.

Draggin and DuPont Make it Official

Classic's with DuPont Kevlar-LRDraggin Jeans has become the world’s first manufacturer of motorcycle jeans to be officially licensed to use DuPont™ Kevlar® aramid fibres. Originally developed by DuPont™ in 1965, Kevlar® aramid fibre is lightweight and extraordinarily strong, with five times the strength of steel on an equal-weight basis.

Each pair of Draggin Jeans features a protective lining, knitted using a combination of DuPont Kevlar® and Dyneema® – the World’s Strongest Fibre™ – and secured with heavy duty triple stitching in key impact areas, to help keep the wearer protected during a slide or fall.

Soft, breathable, flexible and non-allergenic, the lining in Draggin Jeans offers superior protection to basic woven or knitted Kevlar® alternatives, surviving EU abrasion testing in key contact areas for 4.4 seconds. This is more than twice the duration of most other denim biker jeans with ‘protective’ aramid linings.

As part of the official partnership, Draggin will continue to work directly with DuPont™ to help develop the most effective ways to use aramid fibre in motorcycle jeans – the only manufacturer to do this.

Grant Mackintosh, founder and CEO of Draggin, says: “This is a big deal for Draggin, motorcyclists and the wider motorcycling community. We are concerned with the safety of motorcyclists and that is why we are proud to become an official licensee of DuPont™ Kevlar® fiber for our motorcycle jeans. For me this license is an important part of Draggin’s technical development, so I am excited about the steps forward we will make with the relationship with DuPont.”

Draggin jeans offer dogged protection

ReleaseTheHoundsDesigned for motorcyclists and tested on the tarmac, Draggin Jeans have been chosen to protect contestants from a pack of hounds on a new TV game show!

Premiered on ITV2, Release The Hounds sees three unsuspecting contestants enter a forest at dusk, in a quest to unlock chests full of prize money. In order to locate the keys and win, they must cross a field of crucified scarecrows, descend beneath the floorboards in a deserted cabin and read bedtime stories in the nursery from hell. Their ultimate challenge is to out-run a pack of hounds. If they manage to escape, the money belongs to them.

The producers chose Draggin for the contestants to wear because they needed jeans that were protective but looked like everyday clothing. While the fit, cut and styling of Draggin looks like regular fashion jeans, their unique Kevlar/Dyneema lining offers class-leading abrasion resistance.

Draggin Jeans’ patented positioning system covers each of the primary contact points [backside, hips and knees] with an abrasion-resistant lining that is secured with heavy-duty stitching. Soft, breathable, flexible and non-allergenic, the Draggin Jeans lining is knitted from a combination of Kevlar® and Dyneema®, the World’s Strongest Fibre™ – the same material fitted to their C-Evo jeans, which were the first ever denim jeans to pass the European standard for professional motorcycle clothing (EN13595). Exclusively distributed in the UK by The Key Collection, for information call 0117 971 9200 or visit www.weiseclothing.com/weise-site.

Weise and Draggin tested on 2700 mile ride

Sticky-horseFreelance Writer & Photographer Martin ‘Sticky’ Round has just completed what he describes as a “silly scooter trip to Istanbul”, covering 4,350km [2700 miles] on 3 vintage scooters carrying three adults and two children. Here’s his verdict on the Draggin Jeans and Weise Jackets that they used.

Our ‘raid’ visited 9 countries by scooter including Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and a very brief visit to Albania. The highlights were probably riding the Transfagarasan Pass in Romania (one of the world’s greatest roads according to Top Gear) and a 5am sprint across the Bosphorous bridge from Europe into Asia to avoid the worst of Istanbul’s nightmare traffic.

The Drayko and Draggin jeans we all wore were fantastic because they gave us the confidence to ride while having a good level of abrasion protection and comfort but still with the ability to jump straight off the bike and look casually dressed. Admittedly in the 30-41 degrees temperatures we had almost for the whole trip sometimes it was hard to put on jeans when everyone else was in shorts, flip-flops and riding without helmets, but I value my family’s safety enough to put up with a bit of heat.

That said, the Weise Air-spin and Air-spin Evo jackets we had made all the difference, enabling us to ride in blistering temperatures in Greece and Turkey while still maintaining a sensible core temperature due to the air-flow through the mesh panels. It threatened rain twice but never delivered more than a few spots (what a shame 🙂 so never got a chance to properly test the waterproofing liners though we did use them occasionally in the mountains just to stave off the wind-chill. The only problem with the Air-Spin is that Sam managed to melt holes in the arm of his by letting it rest on Tracy’s hot exhaust pipe when he took it off but this was quickly cured with some sew-on patches. Kids – you can’t trust ’em…

Their trip will be featured in Scootering Magazine if you want to read more about it – available from all good newsagents.
